Vision

Every enterprise, every company and every home should own a powerful AI.

Not rent it. Own it: a machine in your building, a model on it that answers to you, at a price a small firm or a family can pay. So that nobody, ever, holds leverage over anyone else through this technology.

The problem

Intelligence is becoming the most important thing a business runs on.

Within a few years, most of the work of an office will pass through AI: the mail, the documents, the decisions, the records. Whoever supplies that intelligence will hold a kind of power no supplier has held before.

Today it is supplied by a handful of companies, from their data centres, under their terms. Every organisation that depends on them hands over four things at once.

  • The priceSet by the supplier, changed when they choose, rising with every person you hire.
  • The dataEvery file sent to be processed sits on their servers, under their policy, in their jurisdiction.
  • The switchAn account that can be suspended, a model that can be retired, terms that can be rewritten overnight.
  • The capability itselfWhat the AI is allowed to do for you is decided elsewhere, and can be withdrawn.
Our belief

Capability held by everyone cannot be used against anyone.

The only durable protection against the abuse of a powerful technology is for everyone to have it.

Powerful technologies have taught this lesson before. When a capability belongs to a few, it ends up being used on the many. When it belongs to everyone, the advantage of using it disappears, and most people, given the choice, will not use it on other people.

We believe the same is true of AI. A world where intelligence is rented from a few suppliers is a world of permanent leverage: over businesses, over institutions, over households. A world where intelligence is owned, where every firm and every family has a capable AI of its own that nobody can price, read or switch off, is a world where that leverage cannot form.

We call this the right to own intelligence. It is not a slogan on our masthead by accident.

In the founders’ words

“The safest arrangement for any powerful technology is the one where no single party holds it over the others. When every firm and every family owns its intelligence, the advantage of using it against someone else disappears, and most people, given the choice, simply won’t. That is why we build AI that people can own, not AI they have to rent.”

Dime Galapchev and Igor Madžov, founders

Owning your intelligence is not a product feature. It is the condition under which AI stays safe to live with.

What it takes

Powerful and affordable at once means getting more out of a smaller model.

The largest models live in data centres because that is the only place they fit. Ownership for everyone means intelligence that fits in a box on a desk, costs what a small firm can pay, and still does the work. That is not one problem; it is four, and they have to be solved together.

01 · Models
Optimised models

Open-weight models, retrained and fine-tuned for the work an office actually does, rather than for trivia. A smaller model that is excellent at your work beats a larger one that is average at everything.

02 · Hardware
Optimised hardware

A machine designed around those models: the memory to hold them, the cooling to run them all day in a quiet room, at a price paid once. Not a server rack, and not a laptop pretending.

03 · Operating system
Optimised OS

An operating system built for AI to work inside, where every app and every file is reachable by the same agent, so the intelligence is applied to the whole of the work rather than pasted into one window at a time.

04 · Harnesses
Optimised harnesses for specialised tasks

The scaffolding around the model for each kind of job: reconciliation, document review, compliance checks, meeting records. The harness carries the method, so the model can be smaller and still get the task right.

Each layer tuned to the others is how a model that fits in a box does the work of one that needs a data centre. That is the engineering behind the belief.

What we build

One system, owned at every scale.

Clerk OS is that system. It runs the same way on a desk, in a department and inside an institution, and in every case the machine, the model and the switch stay with the owner.

Clerk OSA full office in one dashboard, run by one AI, on your own machine.

Mail, documents, spreadsheets, customers, calendar, meetings, knowledge and tasks are not thirteen apps with thirteen assistants. They are one screen, and one agent works across all of it, locally. That is the part people find hardest to believe until they sit in front of it.

Our commitments

What ownership means, in writing.

No account, no licence server.

Nothing we ship needs our permission to run. If FinqUP disappeared, every machine would keep working.

Nothing leaves the building.

The models, the apps and your data run on the machine in front of you. Only the work that must reach the outside, sending an email, does.

Open-weight models, listed.

Every model on a machine is under a permissive licence and named on the machine, with its licence.

Updates offered, never forced.

Improvements arrive as files you choose to apply, offline if you like. Nothing we ship later can remove what you paid for.

Your model is yours.

A model fine-tuned on your data is trained on your premises and belongs to you, with the record of what it learned from.

Priced to be owned.

Paid once, with no seats, tokens or renewals, so that owning intelligence is within reach of a small firm and a household, not only an institution.

The vision, in three words

Own your intelligence.

The machine, the model and the switch, in your building, answering to you. For every enterprise, every company and every home.
